Director of Public Relations & Marketing

Job Summary:  The Director of Public Relations and Marketing is responsible for directing The Valentine public relations and marketing program. The director will develop, implement and evaluate a comprehensive public relations and marketing plan for the museum, which includes print and electronic communications, social media, media relations, advertising, promotions, and community outreach with the purpose of increasing public awareness of the Valentine.

Latino Program Coordinator

Status:    Part-Time/Non-Exempt
Reports to:  Director of Public Programs

Job Summary:  The Latino Project Programs Coordinator is a 10-month, 15-20 hour/week part-time, grant-funded position that will coordinate and lead tours for ESL students, lead efforts to create bilingual programming and develop materials to engage the community with content for the exhibition Nuestra Historias: Latinos in Richmond, to open in July 2017 in the Valentine’s Stettinius Community Galleries. This position’s major duties also include leading community outreach efforts in the Greater Richmond Latino community as part of program planning and development.

Valentine Educators

Status:   Part-Time/Non-Exempt
Reports to:  Student Program & Tours Manager

Job Summary:  Valentine Educators conduct educational programs on and off site in accordance with the lesson plans developed by the Valentine using high quality content and delivery. Valentine Educators will work approximately 3-9 hours per week, scheduled as needed for programs.

Facilities/Maintenance - Operations Assistant

Status:   Part-Time/Non-Exempt
Reports to:  Director of Operations

Job Summary: The Operations Assistant offers support for the museum's Director of Operations. Responsibilities include routine small repairs, housekeeping, grounds keeping, and maintenance projects.  Supervising/escorting vendors/ contractors and assisting with meeting daily operational requirements of the museum. The operations department supports the efforts and programs of other product-driven teams within the organization

Special Events Associate

Status: Part-Time/Non-Exempt
Reports to: Director of Operations

Job Summary:

The Special Events Associate has responsibility for monitoring and managing on-site special events.   He/she ensures a safe and positive experience for guests attending events.  This person also monitors and enforces compliance with the terms of facility rental contracts and Valentine policies by guests and vendors.  Security or special event experience desirable but not required.   Evening and weekend availability required.

Visitor Services Associate (VSA)

Status: Part-Time/Non-Exempt
Reports to: Visitor Services Manager

Job Summary: The Visitor Services Associate has responsibility for implementing the daily procedures at the front desk.  He/she is a primary source of access and communication within the Valentine. This person answers and directs phone calls or other inquires, processes admissions fees, takes and processes reservations for the public walking and bus tours, assists the gift shop with sales, helps to provide security for the Valentine by issuing badges and keeping logs for visitors to restricted areas, and provides Wickham House tours when necessary in the absence of a volunteer.  Weekend availability required.
