Carytown’s LGBTQ History Walking Tour

This tour explores Carytown’s role in shaping the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community of Richmond. Learn about the many neighborhood businesses, people and places that have supported the LGBTQ community from the 1970s to the present. Includes a tour of the magnificent 1928 Byrd Theatre. Meet at Nacho Mama’s at 3449 West Cary Street.

$15 per person.
$5 for Valentine Members.
On-street parking.

This tour is presented as part of the Richmond History Tours program, a service of the Valentine.  We offer a full schedule of walking and bus tours of city neighborhoods, waterways, parks, retail districts, historic sites and battlefields.  Led by a master guide, a Richmond History Tour is the best way to experience the city’s rich past, present and future.
