Historic Cemeteries Walking Tour Series | Evergreen & East End
Once the premier burying grounds for Richmond’s elite African Americans, Evergreen Cemetery and East End are experiencing transformation and renewal. Hear the remarkable stories of the men and women who rose from poverty and enslavement and overcame the obstacles of segregation and disfranchisement to become doctors, lawyers, leading educators, missionaries, community leaders, and patriots who served in America’s armed forces. See artworks unique to the African American traditions.

Advance tickets are required. Tickets are non-refundable.
We recommend you wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water. Be prepared to caravan to second location.

Tours are held rain or shine. However, in extreme weather, a tour may be cancelled. Notifications about tour status and cancellation will be sent to registrants via email. You can also call 804-649-0711 x 301 to verify a tour will take place.
