Controversy/History – James River: Commerce or Recreation?

December 4, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

The Valentine’s free “Controversy/History” series explores present-day issues facing the Richmond community by pairing historic debates with modern data, encouraging important discussions that inspire action and promote progress.

The series continues on December 6 at 6 p.m., where we’ll be discussing the different uses of the James River throughout Richmond’s History.

Valentine Director Bill Martin and Coffee with Strangers host Kelli Lemon will present a back-and-forth focused on this historical debate from Richmond’s past.  Expert speakers will then present data and analysis about what that same debate looks like today.

Dialectix Founder Matthew Freeman will facilitate group discussion. We are excited to align our event topics with the The Capital Region Collaborative’s priority areas and to continue our partnership with Richmond magazine.
