Visit the Valentine First Freedom Center to learn about Richmond’s important role in the establishment of the Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom.
Take a self-guided walking tour of the historic Shockoe Bottom neighborhood. The walking tour route is an easy one-mile loop that explores the struggles for freedom that helped shape America. Self–serve refreshments and a fun eye-spy activity for kids will be available at the First Freedom Center!
The Valentine First Freedom Center in Shockoe Bottom is dedicated to sharing the legacy of Thomas Jefferson’s Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom and exploring the evolution of freedom of conscience through the modern day.
