Join us for the second installment of two free events that delve into the voices and values represented in Richmond’s public artworks.
On Saturday, November 13, from 1 – 3 p.m. the Valentine will host a feedback session on the museum’s own interpretive process to reinterpret the Studio of Richmond’s Lost Cause artist, Edward Valentine. Closed to the public since June of 2020, guests are encouraged to drop in to the Studio space and react to the themes and ideas that are being considered for inclusion in the final design. Responses will inform the initial concept designs for the new exhibition space, which is slated to open in 2023. Insights from the public are critical to ensuring that the future exhibit represents the voices and values of the Richmond community.
The virtual event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided. Attendees will receive The Valentine’s newly-released “Monumental” bookmark and a 10% discount on same-day purchases in the museum store. Come share your voice and values with us!
