Explore the fascinating stories of the women who occupied the Valentine’s Wickham House on this 45 minute guided museum tour. During the 19th and 20th centuries, the women who inhabited this historic home navigated the social, cultural and economic limitations of their times. We’ll discuss the realities of life for women in 19th century Richmond and the stark contrasts between their lives as mothers, daughters, enslaved laborers, and later, as the first formal Directors of the Valentine museum.
The guided tour is included in the price of museum admission. Advance tickets are not required.
