The Roots of Institutional Racism: Medical College of Virginia (1838-1968)

The Roots of Institutional Racism: Medical College of Virginia 1838 – 1968 is a 50-minute video that covers the history of MCV and VCU Health System reflecting on how the historical practices, laws, and culture in the South impacted the shaping of the medical school and health system. Our institution’s historical legacy is examined through five themes; anatomy, student culture,  segregation, urban renewal, and research.
