It’s not easy being green…

It’s not easy being green…
…especially if you are one of the staircases at the Valentine.
From the 1950’s muted colonial revival green in our staircase leading to the archives and the education center to 1970’s lime green in our fire escape, it seems that there is always an unfortunate shade of green to greet you.
With the renovations this is soon to change. Not only will these spaces get a fresh coat (probably 4 coats) of white paint but climate control will also be added.
Researchers, visitors and students will find bright and comfortable connectors between our exhibition floors and our education and curatorial spaces.
A simple change in color can alter our perception of a place. Sorry, Kermit.
