Music in the Garden Spotlight: Kenneka Cook
The second Music in the Garden concert on June 9 will feature music by Kenneka Cook and the the Ingramettes. The concert is from 6-8 p.m. and free and open to the public. Learn more about Kenneka Cook.
During the first three Thursdays in June, the Valentine will host three live concerts in the historic garden. This new concert series will pair performances by individuals and ensembles to bring diverse audiences together in one venue.
Thanks to the generous support of the Carpenter Foundation and CultureWorks Richmond, each concert is free and open to the public.
Parking in area decks and on-street is available. Street parking is free after 6 p.m.
Each event will feature a local food vendor and brewery.

- June 9 – Kenneka Cook + The Ingramettes
- June 16 – Classical Revolution RVA + Rumput

First Act on June 9
She’s been compared to jazz greats Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. With her smooth voice and unique music styling including techno loops and beat boxing, Richmond native Kenneka Cook has wowed her audiences since the young age of 10.
