Richmond History Tours Return for 2025 at the Valentine with 100+ Tours and Exciting New Offerings

RICHMOND, VA – Richmond History Tours from the Valentine are back for 2025! For 25 years, the Valentine’s expert guides have helped visitors and residents alike learn about important historic sites, discover off-the-beaten-path neighborhoods and engage with the diverse stories that define Richmond and have shaped the community.

The public season kicks off on Saturday, April 5th at 10:00 a.m. with a brand-new tour exploring the history of Scott’s Addition, one of Richmond’s most rapidly changing neighborhoods. Originally named for General Winfield Scott, this early-20th century commercial and industrial area contains what is perhaps Richmond’s best selection of Art Deco and Moderne commercial architecture.

The Valentine is also thrilled to bring back History Hounds tours, dog-friendly walking tours in partnership with the Richmond SPCA. Each History Hounds tour will feature an adoptable dog from the RSPCA that attendees can get to know while exploring historic sites and neighborhoods. The first History Hounds tour of the season will be held on April 13th through Oregon Hill.

Starting in May, visitors can also hop on tours celebrating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with deep dives into Richmond’s revolutionary history in Church Hill, Shockoe Bottom and Court End.
