The State Fair of Virginia: Then and Now

Take a look at some photographs from the Cook Collection to see how the State Fair of Virginia has changed from the early 1900s to present day!

It’s that time of year again – the rainy season and State Fair of Virginia time!  The Fair has been held since the mid-19th century, in a variety of locations around Richmond.  The character and quality of exhibits has changed over time as well, but the agricultural component is still a favorite.  Check out these images from the Cook Collection, ca. 1912-1919, to see how times have changed (and stayed the same!).
