Lecture Series

Life, Liberty and Happiness: New Perspectives on Founding Ideas explores the evolution and contemporary relevance of America’s founding philosophies. Held at the Valentine First Freedom Center, the series highlights scholars whose work contributes to a deeper understanding of freedom of conscience and reinterpreting what “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” means today.

The Mission of the Valentine First Freedom Center is to educate and engage diverse audiences about the freedom of conscience as first proclaimed in Thomas Jefferson’s Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom and how we experience that freedom today.

The series will return on January 16, 2024 for National Religious Freedom Day. Save the date!
