Member Exclusive Day Trip – Life, Liberty & Happiness at Montpelier

Visit James Madison’s Montpelier with Director Bill Martin for our upcoming Life, Liberty & Happiness panel discussion. Travel with other Valentine members and volunteers by bus to Montpelier. The free member exclusive include bus transportation to and from Montpelier, admission to the Life, Liberty & Happiness panel discussion, a boxed lunch on the bus and snacks on the return trip.

Location: We will meet and depart from Reynolds Community College, 1651 E Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23228 (Parking Lot A)

Itinerary:

• 11:30am – Meet bus and check in at Reynolds CC Parham Road, Parking Lot A
• 12:00pm – Depart Reynolds CC Parham Road, Parking Lot A
• 1:30pm – Arrive at Montpelier
• 2:00pm – Life, Liberty & Happiness Panel Discussion
• 4:30pm- Depart Montpelier
• 6pm – Return to Reynolds CC Parham Road, Parking Lot A

About the panel discussion: In partnership between James Madison’s Montpelier and The Valentine Museum, join us to explore religious freedom, democracy, and the U.S. Constitution. In this second segment of a three-part Life, Liberty & Happiness series, Montpelier Foundation CEO Eola Dance will guide a discussion of faith and practice, equal protection under the law, and our shared responsibility in telling “whole history.” The distinguished panelists include Chief Keith Anderson (Nansemond Indian Nation), Rev. Larry Walker (Montpelier Descendants Committee), and Paul Finkelman (American legal historian).
