Inventory Technician – Costume & Textiles Collection

The Inventory Technician will assist with the inventorying of the Valentine’s Costume and Textiles Collection. This work will involve inventory; object history/provenance research; data entry in collections management software; documentation photography; and rehousing. The Inventory Technician position is guaranteed for one year with the possibility of renewal. The Inventory Technician’s work is conducted in accordance with the museum’s official Collections Management Policy and strict adherence to the American Alliance of Museums Code of Ethics for Museums.

Annual Giving & Donor Relations Manager

The Valentine seeks a motivated, full-time Annual Giving and Donor Relations Manager to strengthen and grow the Museum’s existing individual annual fund support and membership programs, cultivating lasting relationships with donors, planning and executing member events and building community. The Annual Giving and Donor Relations Manager is an integral part of the Advancement team and will report to the Museum’s Director of Advancement.

Visitor Services Associate (VSA)

Reports to: Visitor Services Manager

The Visitor Services Associate is the first impression for the museum and the museum store. He/she has responsibility for implementing the daily procedures at the front desk.  He/she is a primary source of access and communication within The Valentine. This person answers and directs phone calls or other inquires, processes admissions fees, takes and processes reservations for the public walking and bus tours, conducts sales in the museum store, helps to provide security for The Valentine by issuing badges and keeping logs for visitors to restricted areas, and provides tours of the 1812 Wickham House.  Weekend availability required.

Visitor Services & Volunteer Program Manager

The Visitor Services & Volunteer Program Manager is responsible for creating a welcoming and customer focused experience for all visitors to the Valentine. S/he manages the museum’s front desk staff at both locations (Valentine main campus and Valentine First Freedom Center), ensuring the success of the Valentine’s front line of community engagement. The Visitor Services & Volunteer Program Manager oversees the museum’s Volunteer and Internship programs. As a member of the Education and Engagement Department, the Visitor Services Manager collaborates with the department to schedule adult group visits to the Valentine and works to support the mission of the Valentine while ensuring excellent customer service for all Valentine constituents.

Special Events Associate

Job Summary:

The Special Events Associate has responsibility for monitoring and managing on-site special events. He/she ensures a safe and positive experience for guests attending events. This person also monitors and enforces compliance with the terms of facility rental contracts and Valentine policies by guests and vendors.
