Young students sit on the floor in a historic room with their backs to the camera. In front of them a Valentine Educator stands showing the students some historic objects.

The Valentine’s field trips incorporate hands-on experiences, inquiry and discovery to bring Richmond history to life for students. A Valentine Educator will lead your class on a tour of the museum with opportunities to visit our exhibition galleries, explore life in the historic Wickham House, and experience hands-on history in our Education Center.  All programs are compatible with the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) and are free for Title 1 schools.

“The entire program was highly engaging! Students were excited by the varied activities, hands on materials, real artifacts and statues. Students were able to make connections to what we learned in class!”
